Lyme disease found in Alberta
Lyme is an emerging tick-borne disease caused by the bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi. In Canada, infected ticks are found in parts of southern Ontario, the southeastern corner of Manitoba, areas along the south shore of Nova Scotia and in B.C. although five ticks carrying the disease have been found in Alberta.
